Even though I’m a homebody at heart, I had so much fun talking with everyone who stopped by. Meeting new people, showing off what we’ve been creating for months, and earning a little extra while doing it? Yes please.

December markets… here we go! 🎄

These will be my first-ever and I’m equal parts excited and nervous, but mostly just grateful for the chance to share what we’ve been pouring and meet some local peeps. Come put your nose in my business 🕯️ and celebrate the season with me! 🫶🏼

Over two decades ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS. At 13, a doctor looked me in the eye and told me I’d likely need medical support to get pregnant. He was right.

Last year, we began fertility treatments with Seattle Reproductive Medicine. We were able to get pregnant with the help of Pinnacle Fertility, but at 20 weeks and 1 day, after unexplained PPROM, we lost our baby boy. Ever since, I’ve had to look deeper at hormones, endocrine disruptors, and what enters my body.

That’s where this story begins. I wanted safer products in my home—ones that didn’t quietly interfere with my hormones. I needed that safety. And I know many others do, too.

But there’s another side to this story. One you can’t see by just looking at a candle.

Last winter and spring, we poured ourselves into building a backyard meant to celebrate life. We nurtured over 150 dahlias, 200 snapdragons, 140 zinnias, and countless other flowers, hoping to host a “Baby in Bloom” shower. After our loss, I didn’t want to plant any of it. But I did. And then I couldn’t bear their beauty. I’d cut and throw them away. Maybe three bouquets made it inside all summer. Flowers—one of the greatest joys of summer—hurt to look at.

I needed something that didn’t feel like grief.
Something that brought me comfort, presence, and peace.
Something I could build again from scratch.

Candles became that lifeline.

Testing waxes, jars, wicks, clean scents—it gave me something to pour myself into when I didn’t know how to exist in grief. Making beautiful, clean candles softened the ache just enough to breathe again. Slowly, flowers stopped feeling painful. I even started participating in Free Flower Friday. Healing isn’t linear, but joy found its way back in.

So when you bring one of my candles into your home, you’re not just buying something that burns clean—you’re holding a piece of what helped me heal. Something that gave me back joy, purpose, and hope.

Lots of trial and error, but I finally did it! 🙌 Labels that are cheaper than ordering, don’t smudge when wet, and have crisp, high-quality details instead of blurry lines.

Labels are just one of the long (and oh so tedious) tasks before these candles are ready to spice up your home 🥰

I’ve done 4 since @lazygirlsgardenclub began this fun weekly event across all of her followers. Today I was too busy with doctor appointments, and pouring candles, but it looks like it’ll be a bit before our first frost. Hoping we can make one more Friday (at least) this year!!

Natural soy has a bit of an awkward phase — bumps, frosting, and all the ugly stuff. It’s totally normal (and honestly a sign you’re using the good, clean, natural stuff). With a little patience and a quick heat gun touch-up, she evens out beautifully and burns like a dream. ✨

Every candle has its glow-up moment — you’ve just gotta let her set. 🤍

What can I say? Extra is my love language 😆

@lazygirlsgardenclub — your Free Flower Friday idea got me back in the flowers this season, arranging for the first time all year. It cracked something open in me that I thought I’d put off until next year. Instead, I finally used those bouquet supplies I bought, and made my very first “market-style” bouquets. 💐 thank you for bringing me back into the beauty that flowers can bring!

• Dog Treats
$10 for ~35 bone-shaped treats.
Made with whole wheat flour, eggs, water, and peanut butter (no xylitol). Optional parsley for fresh breath! Stores up to a week in an airtight container.

• Flowers by the Stem
$2/stem, minimum 10 stems.
Market-wrap length (12”+). Mostly dahlias, with possible additions like snapdragons, echinacea, rudbeckia, and scabiosa—available until first frost.

Today I finally joined in on something my friend @lazygirlsgardenclub recently started in her CO neighborhood — Free Flower Friday. She’s invited others to do the same in their own communities, leaving flowers out for neighbors to take home or pass along.

This was the first time all summer I’ve really wanted to do something with the flowers. Losing Myles took away so much of the joy I used to feel out here, and it’s been hard to find the drive. But today felt different. It felt good to share again, to see the beauty in what I’ve grown, and to let it bring happiness to someone else. I think the dogs also missed all the extra outside time.

Thank you, Kelly, for sparking this idea — and for reminding me what flowers can mean when they’re given with love. 🌼🩵

Just whipped up a batch of these peanut butter dog treats 🐾

Today was my first time trying homemade dog treats—and honestly, why didn’t I do this sooner?

We’ve been looking for ways to avoid store-bought milk-bone-like treats because Hank has a chicken allergy, and unfortunately, chicken (or chicken by-products) is in so many treats. So I figured I’d try making my own, with ingredients I actually recognize. 🙃

So far? HUGE hit. And I feel better knowing exactly what’s in them.

Crunchy Peanut Butter Dog Bones
Here’s the recipe ⬇️

Ingredients:
• 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive tummies)
• ½ cup natural peanut butter (make sure it has NO xylitol! I used @crazyrichardspb )
• 2 eggs
• ½ cup water (plus more if needed for texture)
• Optional: 1 tbsp dried parsley (for fresh breath)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Mix flour, eggs, peanut butter, and parsley.
3. Slowly add water, 1 tbsp at a time, until the dough is firm but rollable—like sugar cookie dough.
4. Roll out to ¼-inch thick on a floured surface.
5. Cut out shapes with a cookie cutter (we used a classic bone).
6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange your treats.
7. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden.

For extra crunch, turn off the oven and leave them in for another hour to dry out.
